This is from inside the bus we rode to Chennai yesterday. I'm not sure I understand what they were trying to say, but it doesn't seem like it's anything very nice...

It is supposed to be By Pass Rider and not BYE pass rider. What it means is , it takes the direct route between the starting point and the destination. It is also symbolised by PP which means Point to Point.

Thanks for the explanation, Hari. I didn't know what it meant regardless of the way it was written. But what was making us laugh was the big 'Pp' in a yellow circle. And the fact that the 'a' in 'pass' is incomplete and looks like an 'i' instead. Not to be vulgar, of course. It's the bus, not me.
